Shall be part of transaction team and provide support to Senior Directors / Directors in originating, structuring, and negotiating transactions by conducting financial / accounting/market due diligence for prospective Borrowers / Issuers (financial analysis, market analysis, rating reports, industry reports, trends in debt market, soft market circling)
Close coordination with various stakeholders (including relationship, operations, Agency, Sharia team & other banks) in the documentation and disbursement of various transactions (including the ability to work for legal counsels independently)
Supporting distribution team in selling transactions to potential investors
Ensure correctness of the pipeline, and market deals database and other MIS such as the customer profitability reports
Be accountable for the filing process for every transaction (electronic filing in a shared folder)
Ensure marketing tools are up to the standards of Mashreq (placemats, pitch books, Information Memoranda, Prospectus, teasers, tombstones)
Ensure league tables are up-to-date.
Key Result Areas:
Analysis of Dashboards. Advanced financial analysis to arrive at Yes / No recommendation for transactions (including preparation of detailed financial projections with stress tests and assumptions for structured transactions)
Help and support in Structure papers, transactions memos, term sheets & mandate letters preparation
Help and support in Greenlight memos/underwriting memos.
Help and support in preparation for Borrowers / Issuers meeting, risk management meetings
Develop FAQ for prospective lenders/investors
Updation of Marketing documents (pitch book, placemat) and deal-specific marketing documents (teaser, IM, Prospectus, invitation letters)
Pipeline Report / Deals lost report / Market deals report monthly
Ensure fee booking is correct and is done on a regular basis
Act as backup to Directors / Senior Directors
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
7-10 years or more experience in Investment Banking, Project Finance or Structured Finance.
Previous experience of working on multi-bank transactions.
Strong credit, legal knowledge, and marketing skills are mandatory.
Thorough awareness of various financial product/services.
Excellent communication and analytical skills with the ability to perform as a team player
MBA / CAs preferred. CFA is a plus
Personal integrity, initiative, and leadership qualities
In addition to possessing the necessary product skill sets, the incumbent needs to have a high degree of maturity in handling critical negotiations with bank clients, banks, and other third parties, including external legal counsels, rating agencies, consulting & accounting firms, etc.
The job may also involve taking up new & challenging assignments outside the core area of work
