Compliance Officer Responsibilities

Maintain the compliance policies and procedures.

Assist with the development and maintenance of the risk-based compliance program.

Perform monitoring and surveillance reviews in line with the compliance monitoring plan.

Provide support and guidance to staff on regulatory, policy and procedural issues and application.

Produce Compliance management information.

Assist with client enquiries and requests for information.

Identify, log and resolve compliance issues, client complaints and policy and regulatory breaches.

Assist with ad hoc projects, monitoring tasks and regulatory change.

Provide compliance training to staff.

File regulatory reports with the regulator.

MLRO Responsibilities

Maintain Anti Money Laundering policies and procedures.

Support the Know Your Customer review process.

Identify, analyse and report suspicious transactions.

Provide Anti Money Laundering training to staff.

Advise on regulatory implications of future business strategies.

The day-to-day operations for compliance with the Firm’s AML policies, procedures, systems and controls.

Act as a point of contact to receive Internal SAR notifications from staff

Making External Suspicious Activity Reports to the FIU and notifying the FSRA of any such reports.

Receiving and acting upon any relevant findings, recommendations, guidance, directives, resolutions, sanctions, notices or other conclusions;

The MLRO reports periodically to the Board on the following matters:

The Firm’s compliance with applicable AML laws, including rules;

Risk assessment of the adequacy and quality of the Firm’s AML policies, procedures, systems and controls;

Any relevant findings, recommendations, guidance, directives, resolutions, sanctions, notices or other conclusions and how the Firm has taken them into account;

Any Internal SAR made by the Firm’s employees and action taken in respect of those reports, including the grounds for all decisions;

Any SAR made by the Firm and action taken in respect of those reports including the grounds for all decisions; and

Any other relevant matters related to money laundering as it concerns the Firm’s business.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field. A relevant professional certification (e.g., Certified Compliance Professional) is a plus.

4-6 years of experience working in a compliance role, preferably within a regulated industry.

Strong knowledge of UAE laws, regulations, and industry standards.

Direct facing FSRA experience is a must.

Experience with a retail servicing company in ADGM

Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulations and assess their impact on the organization.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.

Attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Strong organizational and project management skills to handle multiple compliance initiatives simultaneously.

Proficient in using compliance management software and tools.

Previous experience in a company that has done “arranging deals” is a big plus
