Responsibilities
Prepare and cook a wide range of Japanese dishes, ensuring the quality and authenticity of flavors.
Design new recipes and set menus, considering seasonal ingredients and contemporary culinary trends.
Manage the kitchen operations, including ingredient procurement, food preparation, and kitchen staff supervision.
Uphold the highest standards of food hygiene, and cleanliness in accordance with Dubai Municipality regulations.
Engage with guests to gather feedback and provide a personalized dining experience.
Train and mentor kitchen staff in Japanese culinary techniques and presentation styles.
Collaborate with the management team to align the culinary offerings with the restaurant’s concept and marketing strategies.
Requirements
Proven experience as a Japanese Chef with a minimum of 5 years in a high-end restaurant or hotel.
Expertise in various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures of Japanese cuisine.
Familiarity with sushi preparation, kaiseki, and teppanyaki style cooking.
Strong leadership skills, capable of managing and motivating a multicultural team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Creativity in menu development and passion for culinary excellence.
A culinary arts diploma or equivalent is preferable.
Fluency in English; knowledge of Japanese is an advantage.
