What You’ll Do
Direct the formulation of AEP’s compliance and risk management strategy and framework in line with strategic goals, international standards, industry best practices.
Establish and maintain compliance policies, procedures, and documentation. Develop and update internal guidelines and manuals to ensure they reflect current regulations.
Develop and implement a comprehensive compliance program that aligns with regulatory requirements and organizational goals. This includes establishing policies, procedures, and controls to mitigate compliance risks.
Conduct regular assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Conduct regular risk assessment; lead the identification, analysis, evaluation and treatment of all relevant business risks. Implement risk management frameworks and controls to minimize risks and ensure adherence to relevant standards.
Prepare and submit accurate and timely regulatory reports and filings as required by relevant authorities.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as legal and internal audit teams, to align compliance efforts with broader organizational objectives.
Develop and deliver risk and compliance training programs to educate employees on compliance requirements, policies, and procedures.
Oversee the organization’s ethics and whistleblower programs, including the establishment of mechanisms for reporting and addressing potential ethical violations or concerns. Ensure the confidentiality and integrity are maintained.
Monitor and assess changes in laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the organization’s operations. Ensure that the organization remains compliant with all relevant requirements and effectively communicates compliance obligations to employees.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in business administration, law, finance, or related field.
7-10 years of work experience preferably with law firms and/or similar position in other financial institutions in a risk and compliance role
Technical and Behavioral Skills
Advanced in Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) software tools: enhance risk and
non-compliance identification, assessment, monitoring, and implementation planning and evaluation.
ERP systems: navigate these systems to extract relevant financial and operational data to identify potential risks and anomalies.
MS Office: leverage software for data analysis, manipulation, mining, and visualization
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively to diverse stakeholders and engage in cross-functional communication.
Self-motivated with a positive and professional approach to management
Be proactive, reliable, responsible and accurate with an attention to detail.
Professional fluency in written and spoken English; Arabic is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional certifications related to compliance such as CCEP, CRCM or CAMS are preferable.
Prior experience with legal/risk/compliance work in the UAE would be a distinguishing advantage
