Job Details
The Department of English seeks a visiting full-time faculty member to teach first-year academic writing courses at American University of Sharjah for the Spring 2024 semester. Candidates should have a master’s degree in a relevant area (PhD preferred) including rhetoric and composition, applied linguistics, English, English for Academic Purposes (EAP), TESOL or a closely related field, and a specialization and interest in academic writing.
Candidates should have demonstrated commitment to excellence in developing academic literacy and evidence of scholarship in this area. Candidates should have a minimum of three years experience teaching composition or academic writing in North American-style higher education. Overseas teaching experience is an advantage.
Successful candidates will have a strong record of excellence in teaching and a demonstrated commitment to productive institutional service.
